Holiday Linocut

Last year, I did a linocut of my cat with a Santa hat. This year? Pine trees with snow. I found the image, which is available for non-commercial use, at www.briarpress.org. (Thanks to Sue for the tip.)

Here are some images of the process and the finished product. (Well, almost finished - I have to affix the prints to card stock.)

Carnation flood from Tolt Hill Road

I went down and got some pictures in the rain yesterday. I also went back twice today and got some more.  The water was much higher today - up to the bottom of the green railings on the bridge. Most of the valley has been turned into a huge lake.  The water was highest when I was there around 11am this morning, and had receded somewhat by 3pm - but was still far higher than yesterday.

Compare the water depth around the bridge railings in the various pictures. You can tell all the pictures that were taken yesterday - they are the ones where the sky looks miserable.

Another watercolor

We’re doing birds this week. Here’s my raven from Banff.  I’m not sure if he’s done yet. But I have decided to quit redoing the eye.
